I listened to the Tik-Tok gworls and decided to book a day trip to Bahamas.

Day trips from Miami and Fort Lauderdale to Bahamas are available via many boat companies. There are two options: Bimini Bahamas (which is about 2-hour ride) or Grand Bahama (which is about 3-hour ride). I choose Grand Bahama with Balearia company as I seen good reviews for this company. The Balearia experience was okay. I’ll be posting a youtube review soon on my experience with the company.

My trip overall was decent but here's why I would not recommend:

1. Only 5 hours to explore the island. We left Fort Lauderdale at 9am and we docked in Grand Bahama at 12pm. However, because of customs, we did not actually get to the beach until 12:45. That left us with about 4.5 hours to enjoy Bahamas. We changed and ordered food (the food took about an hour). After eating we had about 2 hours to take selfies, zip line, or jet skis. Everything felt rushed. I did not get to relax on the beach as I thought. It was a short experience.

   2. More time on boat. I never tried a cruise and never been interested in cruise because I don't like being stationary for too long. I know, I know-it won't feel like a cruise.

   With this trip, I wanted to experience cruise without extended time. It felt like a cruise (I got nauseous) and we were on the actual ferry more than actually in Grand Bahama. The time was supposed to be 3 hours one-way (6 hours total), but we ended up on the ferry for 8 hours total. I would not recommend the 8-hour boat ride for 5 hours of Bahamas fun.

   3. One beach option. When we finally arrived to Grand Bahama, we learned a little about the town but mostly was convinced to go to one beach-Taino Beach. I initially wanted to go to resort and get day pass but was convinced Taino Beach would be good. The beach was decent but limited food options and luxury options. The beach did have ziplining, jet skis, and banana boat. It also had massage on beach option.

I would not recommend the day trip to Bahamas. For the next time, I will book two- day Bahamas option and stay at one of the resorts. This option would make the trip worthwhile to explore Bahamas a little more and relax.
