THINGS TO DO IN NEW ORLEANS IN OCTOBER

Whether you know it as “The Big Easy”, “Home of the New Orleans Saints and the Pelicans”, or “The City of Jazz,” New Orleans, Louisiana is a gem in the United States that is worth visiting. And now that Fall is approaching, packing up bags and traveling down south to this wonderful city is a must! As a Louisiana native, here’s the top 3 activities you can do in October to celebrate Fall season:

  1. Attend a Saints Game

You do not have to be a Saints fan to enjoy a Saints game at Caesars Superdome! The atmosphere in the dome, the good food, and being around N’awlins people will be worthwhile. Every game is electric. When the fans erupt in the “Who Dat” chant it’s nothing like you’ll experience anywhere else. You can also get live to some of the music that was born in Louisiana. Just trust me, there is no one who can party like Louisiana people can party. If the Saints win, get ready for a city lit up with fans celebrating all night long.

2. Stroll Bourbon Street and the French Quarter

Both Bourbon street and the French Quarter are experiences of a lifetime. The streets are filled with rich history and capture the essence of New Orleans. The weather in Louisiana during Fall is perfect for a day of exploring. Bourbon Street is famous for its bars, restaurants, and live music. So whether you are coming down with your significant other or your friends, you are bound to have a great time.

The French Quarter is considered the Jewel of New Orleans. Walking along the streets, you can go the French Market (indulge in a beignet from Cafe du Monde), boutiques, and old restaurants that offer an ambiance you won’t find anywhere else. Oh, don’t forget to catch you a carriage ride! It’s one way that you can really take in the magic of the city.

3. Take a Jazz Cruise Across The New Orleans Skyline

Again, New Orleans is the “City of Jazz” so what better way to experience the music than by taking a Jazz dinner cruise. While aboard you will take in the captivating views of the Mississippi River, hear about the rich history of New Orleans, eat amazing food, and of course, listen to that Jazz melody that will capture your heart. There are many cruises to choose from, but the Steamboat Natchez Evening Jazz Cruise is the go to! The cost of the cruise is $50 per adult! And they do offer a VIP option.

So head on down to New Orleans this October and enjoy the Saints game, French Quarter, and Jazz Cruise. This is a great city to visit with your friends! Check out how my friends and I celebrated in New Orleans.
