How to Travel to Cartagena the RIGHT Way.
Life hasn’t been the same since I lost my sister almost two months ago. I was initially excited to plan a trip and pay homage to her by wearing her '“new crochet” hat on the beach. I convinced myself to play some character in a sitcom because after all, this doesn’t feel like my life. The destination would be Colombia. I booked a trip to Cartagena, Colombia as an escape and a moment of solace.
As I sat in the nail salon the day before my flight, reality set in and I didn’t know what to expect. Traveling has been something I loved but would it feel different since apart of me feels empty? I wanted to cancel but flights and accommodations were booked.
And I am glad I kept my plans. Colombia was vacation I needed to release, let go, and allow the character in my own sitcom to develop and have one moment of bliss.
I watched all the tik toks and reviews of Cartagena, Colombia and created an itinerary based on suggestions and tips from some travel influencers. However, some aspects of the reality of the expenses and town were missing. So I revamped my itinerary and provided some tips and reviews.
