5 REASONS TO VISIT EL SALVADOR

El Salvador, a small Central American country, offers a unique and captivating travel experience. From the vibrant capital city of San Salvador, with its colonial architecture and bustling markets, to the stunning volcanic landscapes and pristine beaches along the Pacific coast, El Salvador presents a diverse array of attractions. Here’s 5 reasons to visit El Salvador:

  1. Affordable.

El Salvador is affordable in terms of food, excursions, and hotels. For an inclusive resort with infinity pool and beachfront options, the price is about $300USD per night. The food (including fish and seafood) is about $20USD and the excursions are about $35USD.

2. Unique Excursions

The rainbow slide is the infamous excursion in El Salvador and it is definitely a thrilling and fun experience. I also went ziplining on a surfboard in El Salvador. It was scary and I thought I was going to fall, but in the end, I made it back safe and enjoyed the exhilarating excursion. To end my adventures, I went to the spa in Santa Teresa that was well worth the travel.

3. Relaxation

I went to El Salvador to escape responsibility and American life for a week. We are so used to the hustle and bustle of American life that relaxation in another country is necessary. El Salvador is a good place to unwind, write, sleep, and repeat because of beaches and accommodations. I spent alot of time on the beach reading and writing in my journal. It is the best place for eliminating stress.

4. Culture

The people of El Salvador loved learning about me as a Black American woman. The women and men were hospitable (even with stares). I learned that El Salvador's culture blends indigenous Mesoamerican and Spanish colonial traditions. They love vibrant arts, music, and dance. I enjoyed myself at Nawi Beach club with inviting people and ambiance.

5. Food

The food includes Salvadorian cuisine of pupusa, featuring thick, handmade corn tortillas stuffed with a variety of fillings, creating a fusion of flavors and textures. The masa, a dough made from nixtamalized corn flour, is carefully shaped and filled with savory ingredients like refried beans, cheese, or pork. The pupusa is then cooked on a griddle, resulting in a crispy exterior and a soft, warm interior. Some other dishes include fish, rice, plantains (my personal favorite).

El Salvador has stunning natural landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and affordability make it an attractive destination. From beaches, food, culture, and unique excursions El Salvador has much to explore.
