5 Things to Do in Turks and Caicos

This island chain is apart of the Caribbean without the major crowds. It’s one of those places you dream of visiting-the weather, blue beaches, Black culture, and food- and that dream came true. Turks and Caicos is the perfect winter getaway destination. We made it a girls trip-yes, this trip made it out the group chat. The places we visited and you must visit in Turks and Caicos:

Top 5 Things to Do in Turks:

Turks photoshoot

1. Drone Photoshoot

The Looking Glass Photoshoot

Cost: $185 per person

Time: 1 hour

Where: Long Bay Beach

This activity is a must for my ladies who love a good photoshoot. We booked with The Looking Glass company for infamous Turks and Caicos drone photoshoot. The drone photoshoot captures your photo on the beach in a clear kayak boat. We booked early in the morning so that we had good lighting and time (I recommend booking early morning shoot). They were able to accommodate our group of 4 with separate photoshoot. Two drones are used and we each got about 30-45 minutes to create the perfect picture in clear kayak. The men do their best in directing you (think of some creative poses as well). After the shoot, you will receive about 125 photos. The price is expensive but worth it.

2. Jet ski to Shipwreck Tour

Cost: $204 for two people

Time: 1-2 hours

Where: Heaving Down Rock Marina via Mako Watersports.

The shipwreck excursion is pretty popular in Turks and Caicos. There's an abandoned ship that you can explore and jump off of into the sea. The excursion includes jet ski ride and tour of ship-the jet ski ride is about 20 minutes. We made the mistake in not bringing water shoes but was able to purchase some. You absolutely need water shoes for this excursion to get on the boat. Also, there's a lot of upper body work needed to pull yourself on the boat. Be prepared for a little workout. At the end of the tour, you can jump into water from ship. It's nerve wracking but exhilarating.

3. Jet ski to Noah's Ark

Cost: $100 for two people

Time: 1 hour

Where: Middle of Beach

Noah's Ark is a Black owned and infamous floating beach bar that serves drinks and food. Because it sit on the water-in the middle of the ocean-you can only get there by ferry or jet ski. I recommend jet ski because it's faster and fun. This is also the infamous beach bar where I met Drake. Yes girl. Champagne Papi!! He bought us shots and we definitely were fan girls the entire time in his presence. If you want to meet Drake, Noah's Ark is the place to be.

4. Visit Aziza Lounge.

Cost: Free (or $250 for bottle service)

Time: 11pm

Where: 229 Grace Bay Rd, Grace Bay TKCA 1ZZ, Turks & Caicos Islands

Aziza Lounge is the "that girl" club. It's a restaurant and lounge that serves food, drinks, hookah, and bottle service. This Mediterranean-Boho and Moroccan inspired decor- have tables and lounge areas to sit (reservations for certain lounge areas and tables). Bottle service is about $250 and up. The food is pretty delicious and reasonable-we had salad and wings. This is also the infamous place that Drake visits while in Turks. We ran into Champagne Papi at Aziza. This lounge feels like lounges in the states; a vibe with mixture of Hip-Hop and Caribbean music.

5. Eat at Mr. Grouper’s

Cost: About $40 per person

Time: 10:00am-10:00pm

Where: 73 Sibonne Road, Lower Bight, Turks and Caicos

Food is pretty expensive in Turks and Caicos. However, we chose to eat at the local restaurant called Mr. Grouper's and the food was great and reasonable. I'm a fish lover so I had grouper's fish and snapper for $35. The fish was amazing. Some other people had the jerk tacos and jerk wings. The food was good price and delicious. The drinks were also large size and tasty. I highly recommend this place to eat.

Why bring sand to the beaches of Turks and Caicos? There’s already sand at these beaches and I’m not talking about actual sand ladies. This destination is best for a girls trip. So gather your ladies and visit Turks and Caicos!
