10 Conferences Black Women Must Attend in 2024

2024 is for intention and purpose. As a black woman , it can be difficult to find conferences and events that are tailored to our specific needs and interests . However, there are a number of conferences that are designed to empower, inspire, and provide safe space for black women in various industries. Here’s 10 conferences that black women should consider attending in 2024:

  1. Beya (Black Engineer of the Year Awards)

    Where: Baltimore Convention Center

    When: February 15-17, 2024

    Beya  is an annual event that recognizes and honors the achievements of black engineers and technology professional. The event is a three-day conference that includes the awards ceremony, career fair, and workshops as well as networking opportunities for attendees .

2. NSBE Convention

Where: Atlanta, Georgia

When: March 20-24, 2024

The National Society of Black Engineers ( NSBE) Convention is a premier event for black engineers and technology professionals. The conference will feature workshops and networking opportunities and a career fair. 

3. Aspen Institute

Where: Aspen, CO

When: April 13-19, 2024

The Aspen Executive Seminar on Leadership, Values, and the Good Society is an annual conference organized by the Aspen Institute. This seminar is designed for mid -career professionals who are looking to develop their leadership skills and gain a deeper understanding of the role that values and ethics play in creating a good society. The conference offers a wide range of speakers , including business leaders , academics , and policy makers. 4. Cannes Film Festival

Where: Cannes, France

When: May 14 - May 25, 2024

Cannes film festival is an annual film festival held in Cannes , France which previews new films of all genres , including documentaries from around the world. The festival is held annually in May  and awards the Pallme d’Or prize for the best feature film. The festival also includes red carpet events, parties, and special screenings.

5. NABJ Conference (National Association of Black Journalists )

NABJ conference is held annually and focuses on providing networking opportunities for attendees, including panel discussions , workshops, and receptions where attendees can connect with other black journalists as well as industry leaders from news organizations and other media companies .There are also opportunities for attendees to participate in job fairs and other professional development activities.

6. Martha’s Vineyard AAFF (African American Film Festival)

Where: Martha’s Vineyard, MA

When: August 2, 2024-August 10, 2024

Martha’s Vineyard AAFF is held on the island of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts and showcases films and documentaries by and about the black experience .The festival provides networking opportunities for attendees through film screenings ,panels and discussions and receptions which allows attendees to connect with other film enthusiasts in the black community.

7. Congressional Caucus

Where: Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill

When: September 20, 2024-September 24, 2024

This conference is held in Washington DC and aims to to connect black leaders from across the country to discuss policy and political issues that impact the black community. Networking opportunities are plentiful at this conference with attendees having a chance to connect with black leaders from across the country as well as other professionals in the public and private sectors. Additionally, the conference offers panel discussions ,policy forums and other events that provide attendees with insights into the latest trends and development in policy and politics.

8. National Black MBA Conference

When: September 17, 2024-September 21, 2024

This conference is held annually and focuses on providing networking and professional development opportunities for black MBA students and professionals .The conference typically features keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking events where attendees can connect with potential employers, mentors, and other industry leaders. Additionally there are also opportunities for attendees to participate in job fairs ,resume workshops, and other professional development activities.

This conference is held annually and focuses on providing networking and professional development opportunities for black MBA students and professionals. 10. AfroTech

Where: Houston, Texas

When:  November 13-16, 2024

This conference is a platform for black techies , entrepreneurs, investors and executives to connect within tech positions and seminars. This conference is created by Black woman maven, Morgan DeBaun and is a guaranteed good experience.
